WEDNESDAY 15th SEPTEMBER From 7pm
Anthony Mundine VS Ryan Waters
Anthony Mundine
A win would move Mundine closer to his objective of winning a world title bout in a third division. Having already won belts at super middleweight and middleweight, Mundine is endeavouring to achieve the feat of earning titles going down in a weight.'
'Mundine, 35, (39-3, 23 KOs) is one of the top two contenders for the WBA title, with formidable Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto the current WBA light middleweight champion, while Japan's Nobuhiro Ishida holds the WBC interim title in that division. Mundine has had plenty of ring time with nine successive points wins so will be on top his game to maintain an impressive win record.'
Interesting Fact
The 'Man' Mundine is looking to continue the Mundine family tradition of having never lost a professional fight to another Australian. Like his father Tony, Anthony is yet to lose to an Australian fighter.
Ryan Waters
Unbeaten in his last 19 bouts stretching back three and a half years, with 12 KO's in his career.
Sutherland Shire fighter on the up in the boxing ranks (20-2-2, 12 KOs) holds the WBO Asia Pacific and WBO Oriental light middleweight titles.
Interesting Fact
Upset could be on the cards with Waters a natural light middleweight so could have the stamina to outlast a weary Mundine in the later rounds.
